A vacancy exists for the position of Facility Operator in Spring, TX.

Must be geographically located in proximity to the Pearland, Alvin, Channelview or Baytown areas.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

Under supervision, operates water/wastewater treatment process facilities, controlling the variations of flow rates and processing methods and needed maintenance and repairs on plants, collection/distribution system, lift stations, and pump and booster stations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Performs scheduled plant inspections, and serves as Operator in Responsible Charge of assigned systems.
  • Monitors gauges, meters and control panels; and controls variations and operating conditions of the treatment process. Records meter and gauge readings.
  • Maintains all records pertaining to production, maintenance and treatment as required including reading charts, flow meters, and gauges to detect equipment malfunctions.
  • Collects samples and performs necessary chemical analysis in accordance with system sampling requirements.
  • Extracts samples and performs routine laboratory tests, documenting and certifying test results.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as requested related to the area of responsibility.
  • Must be available to work overtime and "on call" responsibilities as scheduled.

SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL OR REGISTRATION QUALIFICATIONS:

Possess a high school diploma or the equivalent.

Be able to readily read, understand and accurately follow operating instructions both written and verbal. Must be conscientious in regards to Company safety policies.

Facility Operator I: Must currently possess a valid Texas Class "C" (or above) water or a Class "C" (or above) wastewater license required for the operation of water or wastewater treatment facilities.

Facility Operator II: Must currently possess both a valid Texas Class "C" (or above) water AND a Class "C" (or above) wastewater license required for the operation of water or wastewater treatment facilities. Minimum of three (3) years of experience at a utility or related industry which provided mechanical experience or training.

Must be able to lift and move equipment in excess of 50 lbs. and the ability to work in confined spaces. Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License.
