Job Description

InGenesis is currently seeking a Staff Nurse to work with our client. In this role, you will provide direct professional care to patients and provide a multidisciplinary assessment of each patient's psychiatric, psycho-educational and psychotherapeutic milieu and directs the delivery of care by other members of the treatment team.

Job Duties

  • Assesses patient needs; plans and implements patient care activities.
  • Assures compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency specifications.
  • Assists medical and administrative staff in formulating goals and objectives to deliver the most accurate and timely care possible.
  • Instructs and counsels patients and families or treatment team concerning home care, potential problems, emotional concerns, or utilization review status.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled team conferences and collaborates with related health care providers in discharge planning.
  • Functions as the liaison between patients and physicians, other multidisciplinary team members and community agencies/resources.
  • Documents patient care and outcomes per hospital policy and accrediting agencies.
  • Administers medication and other therapeutic interventions, as ordered by the physician.
  • Responds to emergency situations. May administer CPR and/or other first aid measures.
  • Remains abreast of developments in the field of nursing by attending seminars and workshops, communicating with peers and reading pertinent literature.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing with 2+ year of nursing experience OR Associates degree in Nursing with 4+ years of nursing experience OR Nursing diploma (3 year program) with 3+ years of experience.
  • Current nursing licensure in the State of Texas.
  • CPR certified.
