Purpose:

As part of the Worley Graduate Community and under close supervision and mentorship within the process engineering department, you will experience the delivery of engineering services to Worley and its customers.

Undergraduate Process Engineer - This role will be exposed to the basics of how to develop and design a variety of equipment, components, systems, and data for offshore platforms. Candidate will use basic understanding of engineering principles relating to material stress, fluid flow, and heat transfer. Will help engineers perform calculations, develop documents/requisitions, and compare bids. Works under supervision and all work is reviewed on completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform job responsibilities in Process Engineering department under the direction of the Project Lead or a Senior Process Engineer
  • Willing to learn to interpret facility schematic drawings such as PFDs, SFDs & P&IDs,
  • Calculates and organizes data for process flow sheets including equipment and instrumentation sizing and performance.
  • Models processes and facility unit operations.
  • Applies client and/or company specifications, governing codes and standards, and good engineering practice.
  • Conforms to client and/or company health, safety, security and environmental (HSSE) requirements as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Develops process flow diagram to define heat and material balance.
  • Communicates with Vendors to obtain technical input and accurate data to develop equipment specifications.
  • Maintains effective communication with project team members and with the customer.
  • Willing to locate to the Metairie area.

What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience:

  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • Enrolled in program for Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or University.


Preferred:

  • 0 - 3 years of experience with engineering, design with-in oil and gas production facilities (no experience required)
