The Sr. Procurement Category Specialist is a key developmental role within the global procurement organization and supports category planning, sourcing, contracts and stakeholder management.The right candidate must demonstrate passion, leadership, competitive drive along with versatility to prioritize objectives and activities to bring value to the organization managing Services portfolios including HR, IT, and Professional Services. The candidate must be a strong leader with the drive and desire to work within a matrix organization to deliver strategic sourcing initiatives, security of supply, operational and process improvements.

What You Will Do:

  • Analyzes current spend and finds areas to improve service, reduce costs, and streamline purchasing procedures

  • Ensures tactical execution of purchasing activities to meet routine business needs and identifies and leverages company-wide spend opportunities

  • Develops implementation strategies, responsibility assignments, communication plans, and timelines for key initiatives

  • Conducts thorough spend analysis, develop methodology and metrics tools to track progress

  • Manages savings projects and reporting to include pipeline development, project execution, and financial validation. Engages supplier community and internal stakeholders to achieve project milestones and action plans

  • Manages processes critical to the efficient functioning of the Source-to-Pay process

  • Researches vendors to determine best options and make recommendations by evaluating total cost and quality of indirect materials and services

  • Sources, develops and builds mutual beneficial relationships with suppliers

  • Develops strategic sourcing / purchasing plans that support the future profitability of the business

  • Finds creative cost-outs in purchasing policies and with vendor processes

  • Develops and executes sourcing strategies for highest spend, greatest complexity, and most critical/strategic categories

  • Leverages Total Delivered Cost (TDC) sourcing methodology tools and skills to identify, plan and execute strategic sourcing initiatives across assigned category spend

  • Conducts full cycle of sourcing events; Develops strategic sourcing, investigating, developing, and driving actions to remedy supply disruptions and constraints

  • Implements procurement systems and process improvements to drive efficiency and effectiveness

  • Negotiates long term and blanket contracts

  • Assembles and manages contracts to ensure security of supply/service and achievement of business goals

  • Evaluates and communicates contract coverage across top categories and suppliers and works with other functions to ensure appropriate contracts cycle management

  • Provides direction and support to teams for initiatives critical to the business

  • Builds relationships with key stakeholders to gather category requirements and specifications from departments and category subject matter experts

  • Evaluates service levels and engages supplier contacts and internal stakeholders in development and execution of process improvement plans

  • Builds and maintains proactive communication with internal stakeholders to update or engagement in initiatives to enable them reach the business goals

  • Leads, manages, and communicates status of alternate supplier approval projects. Collaborates across functional groups to ensure project milestones and action plans are met

  • Leads procurement engagement in resolution of issues related with the goods / services provided by the supplier

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance or related field

  • 4+ years' experience in Strategic Sourcing Indirect Procurement (IT, HR, services)

  • Immigration Sponsorship is not offered for this role

  • This position is not eligible for remote work
