Job DescriptionThe Director of Resource Development & Compliance reports directly to the Vice President of Sponsored Programs and is charged with grant compliance and the development of new funding streams that support strategic initiatives supporting TSTC's mission, evolution, and growth. The Director of Resource Development & Compliance will bring their knowledge and experience in grant compliance and development to The Office of Sponsored Programs Focus on serving the college's strategic plan. The Director of Resource Development and Compliance will work directly with the TSTC Foundation, the Executive Director of Proposal Development, and the Associate Vice President of Compliance & Monitoring in managing grant compliance and developing proposals that align with and support the college's strategic plan.

Essential Functions

  • Employee will demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students and members of the community.

  • Maintain an appropriate level of knowledge related to best practices in private and public Foundation grants as well as current state and federal statutes governing grant compliance and administration.

  • Collaborate with the TSTC Foundation to support funding initiatives by developing grant proposals and managing compliance for reporting tied to private foundation funding.

  • Conducts essential contracting functions related to grant activity, including working with the Foundation and the Grants AOR for proposal submittal, contract negotiation, reporting and closeout.

  • Manage post-award requirements including reporting, deliverables, review of requisitions for allowability and fund availability, sub-recipient and contract monitoring, time and effort, IRB approvals, conflict of interest, etc. related to compliance with related contract documents, TSTC SOS's and OMB circulars.

    • Maintain awareness of public and private foundation, state, and federal funding opportunities that fit the college's role, mission and goals as well as a current understanding of federal and state guidelines governing grant activity (OMB Circulars, etc.). May require professional development and/or training.

    • Conducts research for new funding opportunities and writes grant proposals and applications that support strategic initiatives supporting TSTC's strategic plan, with particular focus on transformative environments, innovation, and areas targeted for growth.

    • Collaborate with appropriate leadership, faculty, and staff in the development of written grant proposals that meet funder guidelines as well as state and federal requirements, and that support the college's mission, vision, and strategic plan.

    • Conduct research to ensure proper grant deliverables aligned to funding purpose and collaborates with Grant accounting and other departments as necessary for the development of grant proposal budgets.

    • Develop and maintain relationships with individual program directors at assigned (or targeted) private foundation, state or federal funding agencies.

    • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills

  • 5+ years' experience in foundation and grant-related work required (post-award compliance, foundation, grant writing, program administration or sponsored programs/grants) in a government or higher education environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (English, Communications, Technical
    Writing, or related field) from an accredited college or university, Masters degree preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Highly motivated independent worker, comfortable in deadline-oriented
    work setting.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

  • "Team Player" with experience collaborating with individuals or groups in grant compliance and grant funding targeting specific areas of work (Foundations,
    higher education, workforce development, pedagogy, etc.), with
    commitment to understanding strategic initiatives in the context of grant opportunities and requirements.
