JOB TITLE: Senior ABAP Analyst & Developer

REPORTS TO: Strategic Systems Group Manager

SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. 9-80 & 4-10 options available. Afterhours and weekends may be required.

COMPENSATION: Commensurate with skills and experience

SUMMARY

This Senior ABAP Analyst & Developer will be a go-to for all things SAP development related and may be leaned on for input in other areas such as business and functional. This candidate must be able to quickly understand business, functional and technical requirements and must be a good communicator with both written and verbal for both incoming and outgoing communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform and prepare the analysis, design, specifications, prototypes, coding, unit test plan, test data, unit/program testing, go live implementation of SAP developments/projects and tasks to support enablement of client-specific business processes including postproduction support
  • Participate and collaborate with management, other developers, team members and end users to analyze business needs and opportunities, gather functional requirements, document technical design, code and implement these solutions to ensure maximum reusability of objects and modules with minimal impact on existing applications and systems while ensuring the product development adheres to client specifications and is consistent across various units
  • Utilize advanced programming knowledge in SAP to work with large-scale, complex programs to combine business processes with technology to achieve the highest level of performance and efficiency
  • Adapt to changing situations, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and switch between tasks quickly
  • Anticipate problems, deal with, and resolve ambiguity and suggest decisive action
  • Estimate work efforts and prioritize workload
  • Support SAP functional and Basis teams including but not limited to patch and upgrade verification
  • Actively participate in knowledge transfer by training peers and other team members
  • Work independently or in a team environment, to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment, and to work extended hours as required

REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidate must possess strong and proven analytical, conceptual/problem solving skills, as well as excellent written & oral communication skills
  • Minimum 6+ years' technical experience as a senior ABAP software developer on ECC 6.0
  • Must live within 60 miles of terminal location
  • Strong Functional understanding of FI/MM/SD primary applications, tables, and basic configuration options; Pricing in particular
  • Deep understanding of all aspects of the SAP Data Dictionary - Experience with data analysis, and data architecture best practices including 3d level normalization
  • Solid experience and understanding of all SAP enhancement techniques
  • Expert Dialog Programming / Menu Painter skills creating custom t-codes from scratch that include custom tables, complex screens, and flow logic
  • Solid ABAP experience creating custom controls
  • Expert ABAP report development skills - Deep performance tuning knowledge - ALV expert
  • Interface development experience utilizing EDI, ALE/IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, Web Services, FTP, Email, and CSV files
  • Solid development experience creating and maintaining complex SmartForms and SAPScripts

PREFERRED

  • Preferred Oil and Gas Industry experience
  • Preferred experience with IS-OIL and with the OGSD component of IS-OIL
  • Preferred Workflow training and experience with the Workflow Builder, creating custom events, and enhancing SAP Business Objects
