The Master Data & Inventory Manager will report to Director of Supply Chain of the Shelter Business Unit. This leadership role will manage two Item Master Specialist direct reports. The role is responsible for leading processes that create and maintain Master Data Governance in Oracle R12 for all of the Shelter BU. The successful candidate must have the ability to evaluate data structure and how it is impacting the business, to identify potential solutions and improvements, to develop the future state with achievable plans, and implement updates or changes that achieve improved business outcomes.

This individual will also be responsible to support managing the company's inventory through various processes. Creating, implementing and distribution of planning & inventory reports. Must work closely with other relevant departments to ensure accuracy of inventory counts, proper transfer of inventory, inventory transactions and product inconsistencies. This candidate will be overseeing the Physical Inventory Counts at multiple plants and corporate inventory locations.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Managing and overseeing all inventory control systems and processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement
  • Coordinating with procurement and operations teams to ensure processes are established and followed that ensure needed transactional discipline for MRP
  • Conducting regular physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy and identify potential issues
  • Developing and implementing inventory control procedures and best practices
  • Analyzing and reporting on inventory metrics, providing recommendations for improvement
  • Item Data Management
    • Lead team to create and update item records in the item master database, including descriptions, part/item numbers, codes, descriptions, and other needed data for all products
    • Categorize and classify items based on relevant attributes for segmentation
  • Data Accuracy and Integrity:
    • Regularly audit item master data to identify and rectify inaccuracies, duplicates, or inconsistencies
    • Implement data validation and quality control measures to prevent errors and maintain data integrity
  • Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure compliance with industry and organizational standards, including SKU naming conventions and coding
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to item master data, policies, and procedures
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and inventory management teams to ensure item data supports efficient operations
    • Assist in resolving discrepancies between item master data and actual inventory
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve item master data management processes
    • Implement best practices to optimize data entry and maintenance
  • Other activities and projects as assigned/required
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, related field with 4 years' experience or overall 8 years of equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in data management & inventory management
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to item master data
  • Proficiency in using database management software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics
  • Must model Cornerstone's core values and leadership behaviors
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of relevant experience with managing supply chain planning data within an ERP software environment.Programming & SQL query capabilities are desired, but not required as additional training can be provided
