Job Purpose

Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE:ICE) is seeking a Senior Java Developer with a strong interest in analyzing and visualizing large datasets using big data technologies such as Kafka and stream processing. The candidate will develop software to parse, transform, correlate, and store large quantities of data in a time series database. In addition, the candidate will write queries and develop webpages to visualize and display the data in the form of charts, dashboards, and reports.

This position reports to the Performance Engineering team. Therefore, the datasets to be analyzed and visualized are performance-related metrics such as workload, responsiveness, uptime, utilization, and capacity.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a data pipeline architecture to organize data for easier analysis and reporting
• Parse and transform large, complex datasets and store them in a time series database
• Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into the performance and behavior of the exchange.
• Build webpages to visualize performance metrics and trends
• Build reports to provide data and analytics to stakeholders

Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field
• 5+ years of Core Java development experience
• Experience with relational databases and writing SQL queries
• Experience with Angular and SpringBoot a plus
• Experience with big data tools such as Kafka is a plus
• Experience with time series databases such as TimescaleDB is a plus
• Superior analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively on a small team with remote team members

This role offers work from home flexibility of 1 day per week.
