Summary

The Individual Philanthropy Group (IPG) focuses on developing relationships with major donors ($10,000 and above) and planned giving donors. You will provide administrative support to the Planned Giving Department, and will provide data management, marketing, communication, and fundraising support to the team, building rapport with internal stakeholders, external partners, and donors. You will report to the Senior Managing Director, Planned Giving, and assist with a variety of responsibilities across the fast-paced IPG team and supporting special projects as needed, with great opportunities to learn about and contribute to the work of Save the Children.

What You'll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Provide administrative assistance to the Planned Giving team (85%):

  • Under the direction of the Senior Managing Director, Planned Giving, you will support the planned giving team in cultivating and stewarding relationships with current and prospective planned giving donors.
  • Maintain accurate records of planned giving donors and prospects in the donor database, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Help manage Planned Giving mailings, which include newsletters, holiday cards, and special appeals.
  • Track Leads generated from toll-free Planned Giving phone line, mailbox, and webpages.
  • Coordinate and scan estate administration documents promptly to bequest administrator.
  • Assist with development of materials for senior management meetings, donor meetings and additional high-value meetings as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including development, finance, legal, and communications, to ensure alignment and integration of planned giving efforts with overall fundraising goals.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of and serve as the team point-person for the Partnerships & Philanthropy CRM.
  • Compile, initiate, and logically format data and reports and contribute to analysis.
  • Manage the collection and distribution of postal mail, including scanning, filing, and forwarding mail to the appropriate team member.
  • Provide administrative support to the planned giving team, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, processing expenses, and booking travel.
  • Perform other relevant job duties as required.

Coordinate and Streamline Operations (15%)

  • Act as a resource for other team members; network and collaborate with peers within the department, division, and agency.
  • Use effective communication to be first entry point to donor phone calls and refer to team members.
  • Offer your time and skillset to support colleagues within the department, division, and the agency, including participation in agency trainings.
  • Assist with IPG salons and other events as needed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Senior Managing Director of Planned Giving or senior leadership.
  • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve services
  • May lead projects with limited risks and resource requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 1 year of relevant experience or education
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Demonstrated ability to work proactively, anticipating potential challenges and finding and executing creative solutions.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proven attention to detail and a high degree of internal and external customer service and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated professional adaptability and situational flexibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with planned giving is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Experience with Blackbaud or Salesforce CRM

Compensation

Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:

  • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target hourly pay for this position is $22.07 - $24.66
  • Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target hourly pay for this position is $20.02 - $22.38
  • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target hourly pay for this position is $17.98 - $20.10

The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available ). Employee may be eligible for an incentive program.
