Job Description
Position Summary
Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, tooling and production equipment capabilities, fabrication/ machining methods, and quality control standards. Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, equipment layout design and workspace for maximum efficiency. Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Equipment and Tools Used / Working Conditions

  • MS Suite, ERP/BPCS, Minitab/JMP, SharePoint, Adobe Professional, PTC Creo, AutoCAD, Windchill.
  • Office and manufacturing environments.

Work Hours and Expected Travel

  • Monday-Friday; 7:00 A.M to 4:00 P.M with occasional Saturday work.
  • Less than 10% travel

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 2+ to 7 years' experience.
  • Critical Thinking - using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Complex Problem Solving - identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Troubleshooting - determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
  • Equipment Selection - determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Time Management - managing one's own time and the time of others.
  • Operations Analysis - analyzing needs and product requirements to create a design.
  • Communicating Effectively - writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Instructing - teaching others how to do something.
  • Process Improvement - analyze and improve process for greater efficiency, safety & quality.
  • Line Layout Development - design a new layout or improve existing one.
  • Line Balancing - balance line for one piece flow.
  • Change Management - analyze EO requirements and implement changes.
  • Design Fixtures - design fixtures to meet production, quality and safety requirements.
  • Working knowledge of cutting, bending, machining, welding and paint processes.

Desired Knowledge / Skills / Experience / Certifications / Licenses

  • Understanding of lean principles.
  • Proficient in engineering software such as Creo and AutoCad.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of material (properties, treatment and testing).
  • Good understanding of customer satisfaction and business skills.
  • Basic to extensive I.E. skills in time and motion analysis, capacity planning.
  • 1 - 2 years of job related experience.
