Hill International is seeking a Transportation Engineer in Texas

Hill is seeking a Transportation Engineer in Austin, Texas to serve in delivering of program management services for TxDOT alternative delivery projects. Excellent opportunity to serve as owner staff-augmentation resource in the development of Alternative Delivery program guidance, policy, practices and procedures to support overall efficient and effective program delivery. Re-location is not required but must be able to travel to site for meetings (10%). Preference for Texas residents with TxDOT experience residing in metropolitan areas of Austin/San Antonio, Houston, or Dallas/Ft. Worth.


  • Coordinate with PM and client to establish work product goals and objectives.
  • Perform analysis and evaluation to provide engineering solutions using knowledge of engineering principles and practices for programs and projects of medium to high complexity.
  • Provide excellent customer service to include interpersonal skills to both client and team members to ensure program safety, quality of work product, and on budget and on schedule delivery.
  • Provide technical development of work products to meet client and PM needs as part of a program delivery team for one or more assigned TxDOT Alternative Delivery program initiatives.
  • Prepare materials for meetings, including work product content, agenda and meeting minutes.
  • Meet quality expectations for delivery of developed work products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • 5-10 years of progressive technical experience for highway and bridge projects.
  • Bachelor's degree with preference for Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Construction Management.
  • Texas Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain within the next 6-12 months.
  • Experience with a broad range of highway and bridge operations including one or more of the following: design, construction, traffic operations, and maintenance, is preferred but not required.
  • Alternative Delivery (Design Build) experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience on large complex highway and bridge projects in excess of $100M.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish task goals and objectives; ability to plan and schedule work assignments.
  • Ability to perform work and develop work products commensurate with industry quality of care, client-specific requirements and PM.
  • Ability to collaborate with others to meet team and organization goals and objectives.
  • Ability to harness technical knowledge and expertise to drive solutions to include identifying needed activities and execute to such efficiently to meet PM and client assignment requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate with project leadership to prioritize goals and objectives and communicate progress including weekly and monthly reporting, and cost and schedule updates.
