Role and Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager for our Texas City facility. The incumbent will have overall maintenance responsibility for all Air Products owned and operated assets, including the Texas City 1- GCA Ammonia Production Facility, Texas City 2 Blue H2 and CO Production Facility and associated assets.

The assets include a large Steam Methane Reformer, Nitrogen Air Separation Unit, a 3600 T/D Ammonia Plant and Ammonia Pipelines, 60 MW of Steam Turbine Power Generation, large Partial Oxidation unit, 2500T/D Oxygen Air Separation Unit, Acid Gas Removal system, Carbon Monoxide Coldbox and supporting utilities and infrastructure.

Reporting to the Facility Director, and with a team of 25 employees and contract resources, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for an annual maintenance budget of approximately $50MM. Additionally, the Maintenance Manager will work closely with site and regional technical, project management, and project execution resources to ensure the on-going alignment of facility maintenance, capital, and business goals for both Air Products & Gulf Coast Ammonia.

  • Responsible for developing a safe work culture and champion safety in all maintenance activities at the facilities.
  • Lead a team of approximately 25 employees and up to 100+ contractors, ensuring sufficient experienced, trained, qualified resources are available to manage all facility maintenance activities.
  • Administer Environmental, Health and safety (EH&S) standards to ensure the protection of employees, contractors, the community, and the environment.
  • Fiscal year maintenance budget development.
  • Accurate and timely forecasting and reporting of major and routine maintenance expense and maintenance capital spending.
  • Develop and maintain productive, working relationships with customer for maintenance.
  • Execution of the Maintenance requirements defined in the Operations and Maintenance Contract for the 3600 MT/Day Ammonia Plant and systems.
  • Identify improvements to facility to reduce maintenance costs and enhance reliability.
  • Organize and control maintenance processes, tools, and resources, activities to optimize cost and reliability.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Minimum 5 years management experience, coupled with excellent broad based technical skills and good business acumen.
  • Minimum 15 years maintenance experience in a refinery, chemical plant, ammonia plant, or an operation of equivalent complexity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across broad range of operational, technical, and commercial areas.
  • Demonstrated commitment in the successful EH&S management of chemical processes and facilities.
  • Proven track record of success in Safety, Reliability, Quality, and an ability to promote and develop Maintenance Excellence.

Education and Licensing Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Maintenance Technical licensing or certification a plus.
  • B.S. in a technical field preferred.
