JOB TITLE: Driver-Alternative Fuels OOT LOCATION: Midland REPORTS TO: Terminal Manager SCHEDULE: Nights, Hours TBD. Overtime and weekends required. COMPENSATION: Hourly. Commensurate with skills and experience.
Driver-Alternative Fuels- Out of Town (OOT)
Driver must be able to work Nights & work out of town on a 6 week rotation schedule or a 3 week rotation schedule. This position requires drivers to travel out of town for three weeks with one-week home time or Six weeks with two-week home time. Accommodations are provided for out of town travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform vehicle and trailer inspections
Load and unload product by lining up hoses and connections according to customer requirements
Maintain proper placards in compliance with shipping papers.
Open, close, and secure all outlets.
Operate manual and hydraulic valves, pumps and compressors.
Operate vehicle controls and emergency equipment.
Connect and disconnect trailer and adjust dollies as needed.
Connect and disconnect trailer airlines and electrical connections.
Prepare paperwork requirements accurately, completely and timely.
Comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
Comply with the hazardous material regulations which detail driver responsibilities and duties in the transportation of hazardous materials.
Follow delivery instructions, and maintain compliance with all DOT, company and customer safety and operational policies and procedures
Properly load and unload product at various customer locations in a professional, courteous, timely, safe, and efficient manner
Connect and disconnect hoses, operating pumps and valves for loading and unloading, safely filling tanks using various size hoses, nozzles and fittings
Crosstrain on mainstream/fuel deliveries
Use onboard technology as instructed (Smartlogix, Samsara, third party applications)
Complete paperwork accurately and timely, if applicable
Comply with Sun Coast's accident and incident reporting procedures for accidents and spills
Other related tasks as assigned by manager
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
Minimum age 23
Valid class A license with hazmat and tanker endorsements, a good driving record and a good understanding of DOT regulations
Must have at least 1 year of liquid bulk, or 2 years of Tractor Trailer experience
Must be willing to obtain LNG and CNG certification within 45 days of hire
Must be willing to obtain LPG certification if the need arises
Must be able to pass background screening including MVR and criminal
Stable employment history
May be required to lift objects weighing 50 pounds
Must be able to work nights, weekends, and an extended workweek.
Must have some mechanical and electrical aptitude
Professional appearance and demeanor
Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment and get along with others
Must be able to read, speak, write, and communicate using the English language well enough to perform the job functions
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions for 12 to 18 hours per day
Must be able to use three points of access getting in and out of the tractor, multiple times a day
Must be able to climb up steps to verify tank compartments as needed
Must be able to work safely in uneven or muddy surfaces
Strong customer service skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task, manage time, organize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Alternative Fuel (LNG, CNG, LPG) Experience
Cryogenic experience
Fuel hauling experience
