The Regional Builder Program Manager is responsible for improving and developing relationships with builders and contractors throughout the branch territory. This will include the regional and local offices of national builders, regional builders, contractors, and subcontractors. Overall goal is to raise the awareness of the benefits of Simpson products, system solutions, software solutions and services including training resources. This person will work with individuals at all levels in the builders' and contractors' organizations to improve the knowledge of Strong-Tie products and system solutions, to identify new opportunities and to respond to builders' requests.

This individual will implement, monitor, and enhance the Builder Program within the branch territory and beyond. This will include identifying and responding to local builder product knowledge needs. In addition, the job responsibilities include developing and maintaining a database of contacts throughout a builders' organization. Because of the varied responsibilities, strong time management, communication and organizational skills are required.

The Regional Builder Program Manager mentors and trains other field sales reps on becoming a trusted advisor to the industry with emphasis on the builder community. This is accomplished through training ride-along, joint presentations, mentorship, and peer-to-peer accountability.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(% of Time)

Builder Focus (60%)

Represent the company with builders, customers and the industry. Conduct regular meetings with our builder partners and contractors. Identify builder and industry trends. Connect the dots within the builder community and the construction industry. Understand our builder customers and develop their trust. Champion the Simpson value proposition. Understand the entire builder program structure, including rebates, and especially how we provide value to the builder. Understand and stay current with industry, market, and product trends affecting the organization's competitiveness. Coordinate with Territory Managers to conduct a "no-equal" training experience for our builder and contractor customers. Enter all calls in Salesforce and keep customer information up to date and accurate. Develop and promote builder workshops and training. Stay educated on software and other technology in our industry. Train builder customers on technology opportunities. Work closely with the technology team. Vet out potential customers. Discuss the features and benefits of the software. Educate and train our Territory Managers on builder software. Help explore new ideas on builder software and technology needs.

Jobsite Calls (20%)

Promote Simpson Strong-Tie as a partner and a valuable resource. Educate the builder and contractor on Simpson Strong-Tie's value and support. Educate the builder on the proper installation of Simpson products. Help the builder understand the features and benefits of Simpson products.

Sales Force Mentoring and Training (20%)

Foster a culture of peer-to-peer accountability based in trust and long-term success. Mentor the branch sales team and the Builder Services Representative on builder sales tools, builder software, and company builder program direction and focus, and help grow the effectiveness of each member. Conduct sales and product training for field sales. Assist in sales meetings and training session presentations, and organization. Bring passion, positive energy, leadership, and unique ideas to the Simpson Builder Team. Develop sales tools to help the sales team become more effective. Train and direct the Builder Services Representative to support the company's efforts with the builders.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

If you can do everything listed above, you've got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

  • BS or BA degree preferred.
  • 5 years experience with Construction industry products and services.
  • 3 years experience with Simpson Strong-Tie knowledge.
  • 3 years experience in Sales and account management.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplications and division, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical and business situations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to schedule and manage time in and away from the office in a way that maximizes efficiency and effectiveness.
  • A solid capability to employ "consultative selling" skills.
  • Ability to understand a customer's business then tailor our solutions to best fit those customers' needs while balancing the needs of the company.
  • Working knowledge of the interconnectedness of the construction industry. This includes Architects/Engineers, Building Departments, Builders/Contractors, dealers/distributors, and other manufactures and how they all interact with each other.
  • A working knowledge of building codes, acceptance criteria, construction and engineering terminology and principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, with high skills in Outlook and PowerPoint. The ability to compile content, create PowerPoint presentations and energetically deliver the material to audiences ranging in size from 1 to 100 people. These productions can contain product demonstrations, so the ability to operate power tools and hand tools is a benefit.

Travel

This position requires domestic and international travel up to 40% of the time.

Pay

$86800 - $138900 / year
