Accountant I

SUMMARY
The Accountant I will be part of our Consolidation, Budgeting, Credit and Lease Department. They will assist the Credit Manager with maintenance of our customer database and monitor A\R balances.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for assisting with daily customer maintenance which includes new customer setup in Oracle, updating existing customer information such as contact, address, payment terms, tax ID information and customer deactivation.
  • Monitor accounts receivable balances and compliance with monthly and quarterly analysis and reporting requirements.
  • Perform preliminary research for OFAC restrictions and sanctions for customers around the globe.
  • Perform bad debt reserve calculations and generate related reports for distribution to operational personnel for proper collection procedures.
  • Assist in complying with external and internal auditor requests related to accounts receivable processes and procedures.
  • Assist with the review, recording, and maintenance of various types of lease contracts and lease records by using lease management software.
  • Assist the Consolidation department reviewing monthly Senior Management books (COO, OPS, CODM), monthly flash reports, Oracle to Hyperion/CCH tie out, and Hyperion financial dashboard.
  • Assist the Credit and Consolidation departments in various other tasks and projects as needed.
  • Some overtime required at peak times.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounting required.
  • Theoretical and practical understanding of US GAAP.
  • Oracle experience preferred but must have some ERP experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Strong technical, organizational and communication skills required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate present and future values, discount rates, amortization, and depreciation.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to deal with unforeseen situations in a professional manner.
